Savings thanks to intelligent energy management
The use of biogas installations by farmers is a recent development. The biogas obtained from manure is ideal for gas engines that drive generators. The released heat is suitable for heating not only the company itself, but also surrounding businesses and homes. The horticultural sector has experienced a boom in the decentralised production of energy. Topec has therefore installed numerous CHP installations at horticultural companies, the majority of which are equipped with (biogas) engines.
Such installations are very soon cost-effective given the need for electrical energy (particularly for assimilation lighting) and heat. The use of intelligent Topec control systems allows specific energy management and therefore additional savings. The main grid can serve as a back-up and supply electricity when minimal power is required. The moment this becomes cost-effective, the own installation starts supplying energy and can even return energy to the grid.

Waste to Energy Concept (W2E): generating energy from waste heaps and streams.
